Play Day

Today has been a nice play day for the kids. It's nice to have a day to sleep and rest. My body needs it so much. It's amazing that 1 mg of prednisone can make that much of a difference!

Princess and Batman.....and here Tip is playing hide and seek inside Cliff's guitar case...believe it or not, it took Cliff a while to find him because when he put his arm down the case closed all the way! Only a boy!

I also got my Go Lucy Go tumbler today!!! Please visit her site and buy a tumbler or sign up for the Go Lucy Go Race coming up on April 20th (you can be a spirit runner and buy a shirt or make a donation)!

Catch Up

So it's been a couple days since I posted last. I've been tired with my prednisone being taken down...I'm dragging and hurting....but life goes on:) Here's some pictures from our family fun night-we played Twister (even Cliff and I had a good time), and Elefun (Tips favorite and no I didn't get any pictures of us playing this new game, I was to into catching the butterflies), and we also did an Easter egg hunt.

Ella McCray also started softball practice last night..it was 40 degrees so they moved it indoors, but she was still excited and happy, especially since Cliff is helping coach her team:)

I also took a picture of Tip eating chocolate ice cream for the first time!!! He has a lactose intolerance and our small town Kroger just started carrying lactose free chocolate ice cream. As I watched him scarf it down, it occurred to me that this poor 3 year old has NEVER had chocolate ice cream before!!

We also had an Easter Party at Ella McCray's school...and Clifford even showed up after Book Fair was over!!

And today, I need this glass of wine to help with the arthritis pain:) I'm working on putting together some great things for The Lupus Walk in GA on April 27th!! I've started getting t-shirts ready to print and sell and Cliff and I have decided that we are going to start having an annual crawfish boil to raise money for our team "Cissy's Soles" for the Walk for LupUS!!

Oops, I Almost Forgot!

I forgot to put these things in yesterday...I got too excited about Chuck E. Cheese! So I think I have an addiction.....

I owe it all to my mom. I have wonderful memories of boiled peanuts. Every time we took a vacation, it seemed like we got boiled peanuts. They are a southern treat and I couldn't help myself when I saw this big bag in Wal-Mart. This is a comfort food to me...but after doing a little investigating...a healthy comfort food. So I have permission to indulge. This was my lunch yesterday!!!

I should have also mentioned that my sweet husband took me on a date!! This is rare, but we are working on making a date night once a month. We went to see a movie and yes, I did take a picture of myself in the bathroom because Cliff would have looked at me like I were crazy if I had of asked for a picture of the two of us! When we got home from Chuck E. Cheese, we also made spaghetti to send with our Sunday school class to a neighbor with cancer. I hope this brightened her day and made her feel loved.

Tomorrow, we will be grocery shopping and having a family fun night!!!!! The kids beg for their night each week and they look forward to spending time with their mom and dad!! Imagine that!! Oh, amongst all of this chaos I forgot to mention that I am starting to go down on my steroids tomorrow...I'll be weinning down for a couple of months. I am a bit nervous so I'll see what happens. Before I forget, because my bad memory is a side effect from my lupus, my friend Susan told me the other day that I looked like I had lost a little weight!!! I was giddy...until I got home and told Cliff...he looked at me like "And you believe that?" Yes, I did until he reacted that way;( Oh well, I'm continuing to exercise and eat healthy every day, so maybe he'll be able to notice soon.

Chuck E Cheese was our Highlight Today!

Well, today I must admit that two days ago I discovered a couple disappointments with my Lupus. First, I had run out of my new sample medicine, Limbril, but that didn't seem to be a big deal because I didn't think it had been working for at least the first 6 weeks I was taking it. Turns out, on the upside, that it was working because now I am in a lot of joint pain and discomfort. Yeah, I think. This is only the second medicine through the last five years that helped with my arthritic symptoms, and the first (and possibly only) other medicine that will not tare my stomach up!! So yay, I hurt!! At least this means that we found something that works....on the other side it is new and although we have insurance, I'm sure there is no generic and I don't know how much this will cost. I guess it couldn't be more expensive then the Benlysta infusions I get once a month...a whopping $8,000-$10,000 each time!!! My insurance company must love me. The second thing is that I noticed the other day that I have 9 bruises right now, which isn't that big of a deal. I have a factor eight deficiency caused by my Lupus and it flares up with my Lupus...but I didn't realize I was bruising (two marks are from holding my arms when I cross them), but this lets me know even though I've felt okay lately there are still things going on internally that I cannot see...this is just a sign;(

On a happier note, we went to Memphis today to meet one of my old friends whose husband is doing some temporary work in Memphis and they been uprooted and moved here until June. I'm sure it stinks for them, but I sure was glad to get to see my friend Shea...and all of the kiddos had a blast!

And yes...those are stickers in his hair. They played hard and both fell asleep in the car on the way home!! We all had fun. I enjoyed watching them laugh!

Lazy Monday

Last night Ella McCray woke up twice with a tummy ache, so I decided to keep her home today in case it is a stomach bug. We slept in to 8:30 which was a rare treat! The weather was stormy last night so I didn't sleep that well.

This weekend we went to one of our best friend's house for a Reveal Party...turns out they are having a boy!! Here's a few pic's from that evening. It was even nice enough outside that we could dress a little springy! This is Tip's first occasion going somewhere and not wearing john-john's...he's just outgrown them now that he is potty trained, which makes his mommy a little sad because now he looks like a big kid;(

We had a blast and everyone spent the night without any problems or wanting to go home!!! We painted nails, had a fashion show and dance party, watched movies, ate, opened presents, played games and the conched out!! What a night! I'm ready to take my nap now:) Everything went perfectly!!!
